Started in 1987, the University Retirees Volunteer Center (URVC) has a history of service to the University community. It was the first of its kind and remains today the sole service organization of a higher education institution.
The URVC acts as a referral center – matching organizations that need help with willing volunteers of all ages who are seeking meaningful and rewarding experiences.
From volunteering to staff a University-wide event to working one-on-one mentoring youth or students, URVC volunteers are committed to making the University and its surrounding community a better place to live and work. Whether you have a University connection or not, you are welcome to volunteer through the URVC.
Annually, more than 200 individuals provide more than 6,000 hours of service to worthy University programs, community agencies, and schools. With ever-increasing needs in our communities, the URVC is dedicated to expanding its resources to meet these needs with active, skilled volunteers.
